George Ciccariello-Maher: The Counter-Revolution Will Not be Tweeted

 

As Greg Grandin described the situation on Democracy Now!: “The Honduran military is effectively a subsidiary of the United States government… if any Latin American country is fully owned by the United States, it’s Honduras… So if the U.S. is opposed to this coup going forward, it won’t go forward.”

Read Geo’s article about the coup in Honduras and why it’s not quite reasonable to take US govt statements on the matter at face value.
